PEREIRA JUNIOR, Sebastião Venâncio; MASCHKE, Wilma Zuriel de Faria e AMPARO, Deise Matos do. Models of the analytical framework in the psychoanalytic clinic with borderline adolescentes. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2024, n.61, pp.145-154. Epub 09-Jun-2025. ISSN 0100-3437. https://doi.org/10.5935/2175-3482.n61a13.
Our intention is to contribute to the discussions about the analytical framework in psychoanalytic clinical work with adolescents. Clinical experience underscores the resistance of borderline adolescents to the classical framework. To find a necessary adaptation, is crucial to recognize the importance of the analyst’s presence as an expression of the life drive, countering manifestations of destructiveness present in this clinical setting. Confronting the clinical vicissitudes of adolescence triggers mobilization in both the patient and the analyst, necessitating adjustments in clinical approach and a reconfiguration of the analytical framework. In this context, it is the analyst’s role to resist potential threats to the therapeutic bond and adapt the clinical setup to the demands and possibilities of the individual. Tus, to comprehend psychoanalytic clinical work with adolescents and its limitations, it is necessary to revisit the progress and variations of the psychoanalytic technique itself.
