The present article intends to discuss the figure of Pandora, the first woman, and mother of women’s race. Introduced by Zeus himself as a punishment for all mankind, Pandora is the gateway to the evils of the world. Beautiful and virgin, she appears as a consequence of the theft of fire committed by Prometheus and is responsible for the end of the fraternity between the original pair, the men and the gods, as well as the rupture of man with himself, from the introduction of sexuality and, consequently, the establishment of incompleteness and the asymmetry between the I and the other.
