This paper proposes a critical analysis of the psychoanalytical concept of sublimation, exploring trails that allow raising new perspectives for your understanding. From the text "O Eu e o Isso" of 1923, under the bias of the second topical, identified the close relationship between the notion of Death Drive and the concept of sublimation. This allows conceiving the sublimation as a disorganizing process of the narcissist-drive circuit of the subject that, as opposed to immediately leading to defensive resources and psychopathological fixation, leads to an experience of subjective deterritorialization. By this analysis, the sublimation says much about the psychic plasticity, about the relation of the subjects with the difference and the new one raised by the aesthetic experience, in opposition to the idea of a 'drive purification' versus the sexual, as Freud envisions in the wake of first topical.
