This article brings part of our research about the clinical difficulty of knowing whether the psychoanalytic treatment “is going on”. We propose to call joint repetition a discursive index that an analysis does not progress from the point of view of the symptom or the relationship with the truth. We discussed the impossibility of moving forward in an analysis to the moment of conclusion. In the end, we could argue that not always the tripod - personal analysis, supervision and theoretical study - will be enough to help in the direction of a treatment.
