In this article, the excerpt of two Freudian texts highlights the aspect of the discontinuous way of working of the psychic apparatus. It should be noted that the system gives a radical particularity. Losing an object, discontinuing a love, watching the beauty of things fade, surviving among the dead in war, in “On Transience” Freud, removed the demand for eternity, as the transitory is also discontinuous. In “A Note Upon the ‘Mystic Writing-Pad’”, Freud demonstrated the method of discontinuous functioning of the psychic apparatus and a concept of time. In other words, precisely the fall of objects under the abrupt interruption of the senses. In a process of analysis, in art, and in poems, there is a time when what until then was a continuous rise, suddenly reverses the trend, and appears to be falling.
