In this essay, the expression of the symptom in postmodern society is approached through the reading of the symptom through the stages of infantile omnipotence. At first, the relationship between symptom and expression is clarified, considering the second as an observable part of the first and a flow path. In sequence, specificities of the virtual universe and its relations with the psychoanalytic symptom are addressed. At the end, considerations on the need for emancipation in view of the alienating potential of symptoms.
