This paper proposes a reflection on the matter of management of transference and countertransference that occurs in the analytical setting in the series “8 em Istambul” (2020) - originally titled Bir Baskadir and produced by Netflix. By analyzing the fictional relationship between three characters - the analyst, the analysand, and the supervisor - our intention is to engage in a dialogue that bridges the psychoanalytic topics and cultural discussions brought by Gayatri C. Spivak in her book “Can the Subaltern Speak?” as we also intend to reflect on theory of Sándor Ferenczi, through the concept of “tact”.
