The author initially approaches the concepts of health and illness from a Jungian perspective. The discussion which follows focuses on healing in the analytical process, elaborating on the meaning of the ethics of individuation and reviewing the issue of individual conscience in relation to the moral code of a given culture. The author concludes by reflecting on the ethics involved in the analytical process and in the patient-analyst relationship.
