RODRIGUES, Simone Paula Aparecida; CANIATO, Angela Maria Pires e KLIPAN, Marcos Leandro. THE DISAVOWAL OF THE PERCEPTUAL PROCESS IN MOTHERS OF SEXUALLY ABUSED CHILDREN. Psicol. clin. The purpose of this article consists in understanding the discredit/disavowal produced by some mothers of children victim of sexual abuse, in light of the theorizing and the psychoanalytical method. For such purpose, the concept of disavowal in its conceptual, social and intrapsychic aspects is presented. The concept of discredit is studied within a historical and conceptual framework, from Freudian perspectives on Verleugnung and on denial by Ferenczi, up to its understanding and current expression: disavowal. Then, the collective processes of disavowal by repressive forces are contextualized, which subject the victims into a place of abjection and marginality. We highlight that, in a state of disavowal, experience and perception become unauthorized and/or invalidated to avoid a traumatizing conclusion. Aligning this concept with maternal discredit in face of revelation of abuse, it is concluded that deauthorizing the effectiveness of a perception to be able to bear it is a possibility in the context of this study.
