BASLER, Taritza y DONELLI, Tagma Marina Schneider. PSYCHOSOMATIC CLINICAL INTERVENTION IN HIGH-RISK PREGNANCY. Psicol. clin. [online]. 2023, vol.35, n.3, pp.655-674. Epub 11-Oct-2024. ISSN 0103-5665. https://doi.org/10.33208/pc1980-5438v0035n03a09.
The aim of this study was to understand the process and outcome of a psychosomatic clinical intervention in the treatment of a high-risk pregnancy. To this end, exploratory research was performed, in a single case study, with a qualitative approach and longitudinal design. A pregnant woman with a previous diagnosis of chronic systemic arterial hypertension participated in the research. Data were collected through transcriptions of video recordings of the sessions and the researcher’s notes at each meeting, in which semi-structured interviews and the pregnant woman’s medical booklet were used as gathering instruments. The data collected were analyzed through a clinical report. The evidence led to the conclusion that the intervention contributed to a favorable outcome of the pregnancy and birth, as well as to the reduction of the psychological suffering associated with the experience of high-risk pregnancy.
