In Brazil, the rate of sexual violence against children and adolescents is high, with a higher occurrence in female victims. This work investigated psychological variables and their correlation in children victims of sexual violence who attend a Program for Assistance to Victims of Sexual Violence. 27 children participated (19 girls), with a mean age of 7.95 years. The results showed that most families had an income below two minimum wages and presented acute stress indicators and risk factors. Most children indicated behavior problems classified at the clinical and borderline level. In cognitive reasoning, most of the sample showed performance within the median range. There were significant correlations between domains of psychosocial assessment with cognitive reasoning and behavior problems. The impacts of child sexual violence are discussed, mainly in economically and psychosocially vulnerable families, and its effects on behavior and cognitive performance.
