The Historical-Cultural Psychology has gained ground in recent years in Brazil, in studies at the Psychology and Education interface, however the Youth and Adult Education (YAE) does not seem to be a priority research topic. The YAE is a teaching modality with peculiar characteristics that demands new readings about the teaching-learning and development processes of this audience. In this article, an integrative review of Brazilian dissertations and theses that investigate the YAE from the Historical-Cultural Psychology perspective is carried out. The search took place in the Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da CAPES and in the Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações and resulted in 28 papers. The recentness of this discussion and dispersed production is observed. The themes researched revolve around four categories: (a) the senses and meanings attributed to schooling; (b) teaching practices and pedagogical resources used; (c) educational policies; and, (d) the development of higher psychological functions in students. It is concluded that this is still an initial reflection, but that it already points to important questions about late basic schooling and development in adulthood.
