This is a study aiming to understand the concepts of short-cut and Vignette, offering definitions of these concepts and discussing recommendations and limitations regarding their practical applications. Following an initial discussion regarding the general designations linked to these concepts, in light of the limited technical bibliography available, the author presents an informal research carried out with some psychodramatists regarding their understanding and practical approach to these subjects. The collected information is then analysed and interpolated with theoretical concepts of psychodrama and excerpts of clinical cases. Step by step, and through partial definitions, it arrives to a proposal of understanding of and distinction between Short-cut and Vignette.
