Abstract

LISONDO, Alicia Beatriz Dorado de. Caesura: present body, absent body in the observation of babies. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2022, vol.56, n.2, pp.165-181.  Epub Aug 19, 2024. ISSN 0486-641X.  https://doi.org/10.5935/0486-641x.v56n2.12.

The covid-19 pandemic caused collective trauma worldwide. The observer, in the Esther Bick method, performs several functions in the family: continence, listening, qualified attention, dream-work-alpha, construction of the setting, creation of the object of observation in the observational field. Families were offered the possibility of continuing the online experience when observation had already begun and the bond with parents and baby was already forming. Transformations and invariants between face-to-face observation and online work are separated and continued by a caesura. Analytical observation helps to sculpt analytical identity. Discussion groups on virtual work, especially on observations, also encouraged us to continue the analysis with severely disturbed children.

Keywords : covid-19; caesura; infant observation; online observation; analytical identity.
