GAVIAO, Ana Clara Duarte. Psychoanalytic clinic and clinic of training in psychoanalysis: considerations on prudence and interference. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2022, vol.56, n.3, pp.71-89. Epub Aug 05, 2024. ISSN 0486-641X. https://doi.org/10.5935/0486-641x.v56n3.06.
Considering the foundation of the IPA by Freud and collaborators, in 1910, as a result of ethical concerns related to the clinical identity of psychoanalysis, and not as a result of elitist, authoritarian, and infantilizing purposes as one might suppose, the author understands the immersive model (high frequency of sessions), institutionally regulated for the psychoanalysts training, both for their personal analysis and for their own clinical practice, as a facilitator for the development of the psychoanalytic function, and as prevention against the wild psychoanalysis, practiced throughout the history of the psychoanalytic movement and now evident in Brazil, in the unfortunate example of the online bachelor’s degree in psychoanalysis, in process of approval by MEX. AS for the argument that training standards would be contradicting the singular and subversive nature of the method of psychoanalysis, this perspective is reversed by the author to consider that the option for the institutionalized immersive model favors its uniqueness and its potential for subversion, suggesting alternative ways to obtain financial resources and social responsibility.
