Abstract

MARINO, Adriana Simões; COARACY NETO, Augusto Ribeiro  and  ANDRADE, Érico. About the access to the psychoanalytic training. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2022, vol.56, n.3, pp.115-128.  Epub Aug 05, 2024. ISSN 0486-641X.  https://doi.org/10.5935/0486-641x.v56n3.09.

In this paper, we seek to list some points on the theme of expanding the access to psychoanalytic training, having as a trigger the recent proposal for a degree in psychoanalysis in a private institution of higher education in the country. We approach the elitist precedent of psychoanalysis as a gap for current opportunistic initiatives that aim to appropriate psychoanalysis amidst the education market. We emphasize that the tripod to be considered in psychoanalytic training involves payment in cash and, thus, we emphasize the importance of policies of access and permanence in traditional training spaces and public treatment initiatives. We go through issues regarding Brazilian social class inequalities, in an intersectional logic, which adds barriers in terms of language, subjective implication, and the belief around the universalization of any specific kind of therapy as a form of public mental health production.

Keywords : access; elitism; psychoanalytic training; education market.
