Abstract

CASEIRO, Sandra Nunes. At-one-ment and becoming: a cosmogonic moment. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2022, vol.56, n.3, pp.151-162.  Epub Aug 05, 2024. ISSN 0486-641X.  https://doi.org/10.5935/0486-641x.v56n3.11.

Starting from Bion’s proposal for a change of vertex from the conscious ↔ unconscious mental spectrum to the finite ↔ infinite one, and making approximations with religious and mythical texts, the author, by means of two clinical vignettes, aims at demonstrating the accomplishment of the at-one-ment and Becoming concepts during the Psychoanalysis session. The occurrence of at-one-ment and becoming favors the approximation to the truth of the emotional experience of the moment, pointing to the possibility of a creative future ‘’being what one is’’. Its occurrence arises spontaneously during the session, and is favored when the analyst reaches, in his psychoanalytic technique, the state of suspension of memory, of desire, and of need for understanding.

Keywords : at-one-ment; becoming; finite-infinite; psychoanalytic technique.
