Abstract

VIEIRA, Marcus Rodrigues Jacobina  and  CINTRA, Elisa Maria de Ulhôa. On the importance of the analyst’s voice in the treatment of traumatized patients. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2022, vol.56, n.3, pp.163-175.  Epub Aug 05, 2024. ISSN 0486-641X.  https://doi.org/10.5935/0486-641x.v56n3.12.

This article considers the importance of the voice in the construction of narcissism and in the first stages of the constitution of the psyche as an element that leaves indelible marks on the individual’s primitive emotional processes. We draw a parallel between this period of primitive experiences and its updating in the analytic process through the transference and regression situations under analysis. In some cases, such as those presented in this work, the connection between the patient and the analyst’s voice appears as an indication of regressive aspects that have become important allies in the analytic work with such patients. We emphasize aspects of transference and patients’ entry into moments of therapeutic regression, when they signal the importance of what we call the melody of the analyst’s voice as a reconstructive and anti-traumatic element.

Keywords : regression; transference; psychoanalytic clinic; symbolization.
