COIMBRA, Regina Elisabeth Lordello. Weaving the encounter: child and parents in the mind of the analyst. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2023, vol.57, n.1, pp.47-64. Epub 14-Out-2024. ISSN 0486-641X. https://doi.org/10.69904/0486-641x.v57n1.04.
The author presents her analytical experience from a different perspective than the traditional one, when psychoanalysis is presented by the binary tendency of the clinic with children and adolescents/adults. The analyst of parent-infant, child, infant, and adolescent relationships works with the concept of an extended analytic field, the “setting”, as a shared area of the clinic. The presence of parents is inherent to the child’s condition of emotional, economic, and social dependence on them. Parents have a special participation in the horizon of the analytic field and constitute with the patient and the analyst a conjunction of forces that will determine effects on the analysand and on the analyst. The detailed examination of this set of phenomena was presented as: “Weaving the encounter: child and parents in the mind of the analyst”.
