Main taboo of human beings, the prohibition of incest is structuring for the individual as well as for society, delimiting the psychic functions in the family. Through the study of the theme and the experience of assisting families which reported intrafamilial sexual abuse or incest, following a psychoanalytical framework, it was observed that, in addition to the denounced relationship, there are other incestuous relationships that are not perceived as abusive. Incestuous relationships between mothers and children are rarely recognized and often seen as excessive care, but they are a frequent phenomenon in families. The repetitive compulsion of sexual abuse in relationships and between generations, with the mother as the main agent of psychic transmission, is seen as manifestation of the death drive. Human beings, with their symbolization potential, continue to seek the satisfaction of their primary drives, using their experience to access satisfaction in socially accepted relationships.
