QUAGLIATTO, Helga de Souza Machado et al. Trauma and subjective beliefs as a field of psychoanalytic investigation in the family plot. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2023, vol.57, n.2, pp.43-56.  Epub 22-Nov-2024. ISSN 0486-641X.  https://doi.org/10.69904/0486-641x.v57n2.04.

The tragedies evoked in the Greek myths of Narcissus and Oedipus have close relationship with some contemporary family plots. In these dramatic conditions, the analyst faces, in the psychoanalytic clinic of childhood, psychic suffering in a common intra-familiar zone, which moves between helplessness and omnipotence. The authors intend to shed light on the interweaving between the actions of trauma and the hybrid character of unconscious fantasies that generate subjective beliefs, so that the analyst, performing a work of “calibration” and maintaining his state of living presence in the sessions, may find, among the debris of the mind, in the noises of trauma and in genuine pain, possibilities of symbolization.

Palavras-chave : psychoanalysis with children; parents and children; archaic mental states; traumas; subjective beliefs.
