Abstract

MALZYNER, Mirian. The wound is the place where the light enters: on psychoanalysis and religiosity. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2023, vol.57, n.3, pp.65-78.  Epub Nov 04, 2024. ISSN 0486-641X.  https://doi.org/10.69904/0486-641x.v57n3.05.

The author develops ideas about the relationship between psychoanalysis, religion, spirituality, and mysticism. She presents reflections by other psychoanalysts who have considered these issues and who have used Bion’s propositions about O and Winnicott’s ideas about the field of illusion as their main references. She also addresses Matisse’s ideas about the relationship between religiosity and his art. Finally, she provides a clinical vignette to illustrate the analyst’s attitude of faith in the creative potential of the analytic encounter.

Keywords : illusion; religiosity; mysticism; psychoanalysis; spirituality.
