Abstract

KORBIVCHER, Celia Fix. Primordial mind and body: the non-body and becoming a body. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2023, vol.57, n.3, pp.171-183.  Epub Nov 04, 2024. ISSN 0486-641X.  https://doi.org/10.69904/0486-641x.v57n3.12.

The author aims to investigate the role of the body in primordial states of mind, in which it is an “uninhabited body”, without an inner self having been constituted to inhabit it. She reflects on how the primordial mind works, and examines the type of language used by the analyst in order to allow the patient to develop a self that inhabits this body (“becoming a body”), connecting the body to the mind. She proposes that this language is what she calls the language of emotion, and presents Pedro’s clinical case to illustrate these ideas and open up the topic for discussion.

Keywords : primordial mind; body; uninhabited body; language of the analyst; language of emotion.
