The author addresses issues related to the phármakon by inserting excerpts that deal with various aspects of the subject, involving the contrasts and impasses between a psychoanalytic and an organicist conception of human problems. He proposes that there are links between these various aspects and invites the reader to establish their own. He also deals with the phenomenon of self-diagnosis in psychiatry and the tendency towards hyperdiagnosis in current psychiatry, which is mainly American in orientation. He points to the possibility of interlocution between psychoanalysis and neurosciences.
