MACEDO, Gabriela Lara da Cruz Lucas. From Freud to Bion: psychic bisexuality and humanity. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2023, vol.57, n.4, pp.209-221.  Epub 04-Nov-2024. ISSN 0486-641X.  https://doi.org/10.69904/0486-641x.v57n4.15.

The author focuses on the notion of psychic bisexuality developed by Freud as a concept that is not only fundamental to thinking about the constitution of our sexual identity, but also foundational to our human condition, insofar as she maintains that bisexuality and its inseparable strands, masculinity and femininity, are related to the origin of the psyche and are at the heart of mental functioning and the encounter between minds. Wilfred Bion and his concepts of continent/content, represented by the ♀♂ symbols, are invited to this journey, that is, from sexuality to the architecture of the mind. Post-Bionian authors offer the reflection that masculinity ↔ femininity coexist in the psyche in a constant relationship, represented by a kind of fertile coitus, which would give rise to our thought-children and our human condition, always crossed by the sexual.

Palavras-chave : masculinity/femininity; continent/content; psychic bisexuality.
