Abstract

TRINCA, Ricardo Trapé. Silence, communication, and non-communication. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2024, vol.58, n.1, pp.141-153.  Epub Nov 29, 2024. ISSN 0486-641X.  https://doi.org/10.69904/0486-641x.v58n1.11.

The author develops the theme of silence and seclusion, considering the difference between them. To this end, he discusses the role of non-communication in the communicative process, and how it starts from silence. While silence can be the source of a listening ear for unconscious words and the precursor of a creative personal narrative, seclusion is considered an attempt to respond to the feeling of invasion. Finally, the author deals with the implications of the eroticization of the state of seclusion as a psychopathological process.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; adolescence; silence; non-communication.
