The objective of this research is to learn the reliability and construct validity of the scale of Beck's suicidal ideation in Mexican students of high school students. Two samples were used; a pilot sample consisting of 38 students of first semester of psychology who voluntarily agreed to participate; a second sample study with 971 high school students randomly selected by cluster sampling from a school official: 410 men and 561 women. Two instruments were applied: the scale of Beck's suicidal ideation and a questionnaire of personal questions. The Beck suicidal ideation Scale showed acceptable reliability via Cronbach α. However showed no construct validity using factor analysis. The results indicate that the scale of Beck's suicidal ideation in Mexican students of high school students have reliability but not construct validity.
