The support network is a set of links that can be important sources of support for cocaine/crack users. The purpose of this study is to understand the perceptions cocaine/crack users have of their support network. It is a qualitative research, of descriptive character, with secondary data. The sample consisted of 11 male participants who completed the instruments: interview protocol, WAIS-III, MEEM and two materials prepared for the study. Content analysis was performed and the categories were constructed: "Risks"; "Prejudices"; "Support"; "Control"; and "Conflicts." The results showed that the family of origin often makes use of substances, and is also perceived as a support network because they have concerns with the user. It is concluded that family members are risk factors and/or protection, so it is necessary to know the support network that permeates the substance use of individuals.
