Case studies have more and more been used as methodological strategy in research on psychology, and in the humanities and social sciences in general. However, most scientific methodology handbooks devote more attention to other research strategies. This paper a) presents general considerations regarding the use of case studies in scientific research, and b) delineates some practical orientations for planning and execution of case studies in psychology.
