DOURADO, Amanda Dias; ZAMBRONI-DE-SOUZA, Paulo César e BOLIS, Ivan. Relationship between subjective mobilization and presenteeism in the illness of workers. Estud. psicol. (Natal) [online]. 2023, vol.28, n.1, pp.59-68. Epub 23-Set-2023. ISSN 1413-294X. https://doi.org/10.22491/1678-4669.20230006.
This study sought to understand subjective mobilization experiences and their relationship with presenteeism in workers away from the work environment due to illness. The study included six workers away from the work environment due to illness, users of a Worker's Health Reference Center in a capital in northeastern Brazil. The methodology has an exploratory, descriptive and qualitative nature. A sociodemographic questionnaire and a semi-structured interview were used, which were analyzed through thematic content analysis with the theoretical support of the psychodynamics of work. Overload experiences were evidenced to reach the production objectives; the search for symbolic recognition; loneliness at work; the shame of the disease and the fear of dismissal. The article promotes reflections on the forms of work management that have favored the illness of workers, especially when setting increasingly high goals and not favoring the creation of spaces for discussion in the work environment.
