Referenced by the sociogenetic approach of the Theory of Social Representations, the aim of this study is analyze the social representations of old age and the quality of life practices among elderly women attending a CCTI in Vitória-ES, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. Through interviews, based on a semi-structured script, 12 elderly women aged between 61 and 82 years participated in the study. The results, coded from the Grounded Theory, showed six thematic categories: personal experiences, socio-territorial context, temporal context, CCTI, old age and quality of life. Old age was configured as a central category and was composed by the poles being old and being elderly. Based on the psychosocial anchoring process, we discuss the updating of social representations of old age through tensioned meanings between what it means being old and what it means being elderly, and its relationship with quality of life practices.
