PESSOA, Alex Sandro Gomes; MORENO, Carolina Serrati e GUIMARAES, Débora Ananias. Sexual Exploitation of Adolescents and Hidden Resilience Processes: A Multiple Case Study. Estud. psicol. This study aimed to analyze the hidden resilience processes in adolescents with a history of sexual exploitation. The research was qualitative and based on a multiple cases study design. The fieldwork was carried out with two adolescent victims of sexual exploitation, as well as two professionals who assisted them in specialized services. Two interview scripts were employed, and the data collected were analyzed using Thematic Analysis. The findings refuted the initial hypothesis of the investigation, since it was not evidenced that the adolescents extracted resources from sexual exploitation that favored their development or motivated the hidden resilience processes. Instead, data revealed exposure to several risk factors associated with sexual exploitation and their recruitment in this exploratory market intensified the participants' vulnerability, with drastic repercussions on the adolescents' mental health.
