Children’s participation in court proceedings: an analysis of Brazilian public policies guaranteeing the right to participate. This study describes research in a master’s program, pointing out its method and methodology and showing the most relevant part (at least for this study) of the achieved results. The main categories that emerged from the analysis of the meaning nuclei evinced the fragmentation of childhood, the weakening of childhood, children as objectified subjects in the judicial process, and the role of families in disputes involving children. In addition to describing such research, this study aimed to summarize the history of Brazilian legislation regarding the right of children to participation, highlighting the latest developments in child participation in Brazil, thus updating the study that has begun started years ago. Finally, this study aimed to build a critique based on identifying what has changed in recent years, what has remained inert, and what must still be transformed, pointing out possible ways in which this transformation could take place.
