The youth as seen by the State: significations for young participants of the peace building circles from the perspective of sociohistorical psychology. This study grasped the meanings of how the State sees “young” participants in peace building circles, which took place at the Judicial Center for Restorative Justice in Goiânia from January 2021 to March 2022. This is a qualitative research based on the theoretical assumptions of Vygotskian sociohistorical psychology and on the historical-dialectical materialist method. Data collection consisted of semi-structured interviews with four young people living in the metropolitan region of Goiânia who participated in the peace building circles and had been accused of committing infractions or criminal acts. The systematizations and analyzes were processed by meaning cores. From the analysis of the reports, the senses and meanings of how the State sees the interviewed youth were extracted under the aspect of territoriality, gender, social class and skin color: marginal; dangerous; stereotyped; enemies of the state; criminals; unworthy of having rights; exclusively guilty of the acts committed and reduced to those acts.

Keywords : societies; youth; human rights.
