Based on our understanding of the work of the negative, we seek in this study to outline some possibilities of understanding the concept of playing within the framework of André Green's theory, as well as to reflect on the author's proposition of a modality of playing as a "negative play". From the presentation of a clinical case, we try to understand to what extent theorizing about a negative play would have clinical implications in the management of patients who present problems related to the limits.
