GOMES, Sérgio e COELHO JUNIOR, Nelson Ernesto. Hysteria in Donald W. Winnicott and Masud Khan's Clinical Thinking. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2021, vol.43, n.44, pp.217-241. ISSN 1413-6295.
This paper aims to redescribe hysteria from the theory of object relations and the theory of emotional development in Donald W. Winnicott and Masud Khan. From the theory of object relations and primitive emotional development, hysteria can be understood as a failure in the care of the baby in the first year of life, plus premature sexual development in which psychotic and schizoid symptoms emerge during adolescence or adulthood. From the transmatricial psychoanalysis, we propose the clinical management both through interpretation and free association, as well as through the repair of early environmental failures experienced in the mother-baby dynamics with the use of regression to dependence.
