The present article has for objective to map Lourenço Filho's performance as a pioneering intellectual in the introduction and spread of the psychological knowledge in the Brazilian education field. For so much, it discusses aspects of her professional formation, of her performance in the teachers' formation and as experimental psychologist, as well as her contribution in the constitution of a psychology informs in national and international extent.
