This text discusses the intersectionality of disability to understand its effects on contemporary society and the concrete impacts on the lives of people with disabilities. Based on a critical review of the specialized literature on intersectionality and disability, this theoretical essay presents and analyzes the main legal aspects underlying the inclusive education policy in Brazil, particularly its concepts and guiding principles. Additionally, a brief historical overview of the different conceptions of disability is provided to support an in-depth discussion of intersectionality in the inclusive educational context. The essay concludes by strongly defending Human Rights and advocating the adoption of the Social Model of Disability combined with the Universal Design Paradigm, highlighting that ethical and political commitment must continue to guide the practices, knowledge, and forms of existence of all those who seek a genuine transformation of Brazilian society.
