Abstract

SOUZA, Maria Thereza Costa Coelho de  and  PETTY, Ana Lúcia. INTERVENTION WITH GAMES: FAMILIES’ PERSPECTIVE. Constr. psicopedag. [online]. 2024, vol.34, n.36, pp.61-71.  Epub Feb 03, 2025. ISSN 1415-6954.  https://doi.org/10.37388/cp2024/v34n36a05.

This research was carried out with families of children with school difficulties who participated in an Intervention Program with Game Workshops, offered for over thirty years. The aim was to investigate their perceptions, after a few years passed, about the impact of the workshops on school life, as well as get to know the possible benefits beyond the educational context. It was also investigated whether families’ impressions were aligned with research indicators regarding the effects of interventions on children with school difficulties. Results indicated a convergence between these two axes, expressing benefits of different natures (concrete and subjective), positive interfering on cognitive and socioemotional aspects. The minimum length of stay in the program was also analysed as important so that the benefits could last longer. This made it possible to adjust the interventions for new groups and also reiterate the structural parameters of the intervention program.
