This paper presents the quantitative and qualitative results of the state of the art on the relationship between family and school, based on data from the Capes Theses and Dissertations Catalog, from January 2021 to December 2024. The general objective was to investigate the means of cooperation and participation between these two institutions. The research adopted a qualitative and quantitative approach, using a review study based on Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA). From this process, two main categories emerged: (i) Different perspectives of educational participation: dialogue between school and family and (ii) The family and its contributions to the student‘s schooling process. The survey covered academic productions from the last four years, including theses and dissertations. The theoretical foundation is based on authors such as Paro (2018) and Benato; Soares (2014). The results show that school and family are essential institutions for the development of students and, therefore, must remain aligned in the teaching and learning process, in the formulation of school proposals and in the redefinition of pedagogical practices. It is concluded that dialogue is one of the main pillars of participation between school and family. Family involvement and monitoring can contribute significantly to the success of the educational process, favoring the integral development of students.
