Abstract
SOUZA, Vivian Carneiro Gonçalves and GARCIA, Ana Cristina Bechara Barros Fróes. Cognitive-behavioral therapy: nervous anorexia treatment in young women. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2021, vol.41, n.101, pp.185-192. ISSN 1415-711X.
This study aims to compile information regarding the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy in nervous anorexia in young women. To this end, a bibliographic review of previous productions in scientific literature was carried out. Being considered as an eating disorder characterized by excessive fear of gaining weight and an inconsequential search for thinness, it is believed that nervous anorexia may have a multifactorial origin, comprising genetic, hereditary, psychological and / or social factors. Despite the possibility of affecting men and women at different ages, this study will focus on the young female population. It is a serious disease that, if not treated by specialized professionals, can cause fatal consequences. The follow-up of those responsible will also play a crucial role in the success of the treatment. The focus of the present study is on the importance of the clinical process based on cognitive behavioral therapy, in this young population, toward the development of a life model with higher quality and awareness.
