FRIAS, Eduardo Ribeiro  y  SOUZA, Marilene Proença Rebello de. For a psychology for school success - so we do not become co-participants in human exploitation. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2022, vol.42, n.103, pp.155-164.  Epub 22-Nov-2024. ISSN 1415-711X.  https://doi.org/10.5935/2176-3038.20220016.

Given the scarcity of studies on “ethnic-racial relations in Brazil” and “racism in education” within the scope of School and Educational Psychology (SEP), we resume data from the thesis “School success of black students in a Black Territory in São Paulo City”, (FRIAS, 2020) conducted with the objectives of knowing specificities that allowed black men and women to obtain school success and to generate new subsidies for the praxis of a Critical SEP. The black territory of Peruche Park in the city of São Paulo being elected as locus, the ethnographic approach was adopted, which included a stage of stay in the field and active listening to the stories of student life of three men and two women who had recently completed their academic graduation. Data interpretation was performed based on the theoretical production of Psychology and related sciences, with special emphasis on the theoretical construction of the SEP of historical-cultural, libertarian and emancipatory approach. The main results point to the importance of public policies and affirmative government actions for black people. The need for training and performance of critical psychologists was evidenced, aware of the social reality, the political scene and the current public policies; and need to expand studies on this subject within the scope of the SEP.

Palabras clave : School and Educational Psychology; Historical-Cultural Theory; Psychology of Liberation; School Success; Ethnic-Racial Relations in Brazil.
