LIPP, Marilda E. Novaes et al. Stress in Brazil 2022: the legacy of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2023, vol.43, n.104, pp.26-37. Epub 22-Nov-2024. ISSN 1415-711X. https://doi.org/10.5935/2176-3038.20230004.
This survey aimed to identify the level of emotional stress of Brazilians when the isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic had come to an end, and compare it with that recorded in other surveys conducted before and during the pandemic. The most present stressors were political instability and financial difficulty, and the strategies used were physical activity and those linked to spirituality. The prevalence of stress (23.97%) was lower than during the pandemic (60.22%). There were significant associations between stress level and the presence of mental disorders such as depression, anxiety and panic. The prevalence of anxiety, depression and panic has also decreased by comparing the data from 2020 and 2022, but it must be noted that they are still above the measurements of past years. Data indicate the need for attention from society in the prevention of mental disorders that may be triggered by the high level of stress of the present time.
