Abstract

NAFFAH NETO, Alfredo  and  COCCO, Maria Regina. Dreaming and playing in the clinical management of difficult cases: a winnicottian perspective. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2023, vol.43, n.104, pp.77-86.  Epub Nov 22, 2024. ISSN 1415-711X.  https://doi.org/10.5935/2176-3038.20230008.

The present work studies some specificities required in the analytical use of dreams and in the clinical management of playing in the care of patients whose difficulties belong to the scope of fission and dissociation, such as psychotics, false self and borderline, among others. The contribution of the Winnicottian reading sheds light on the establishment of analytical reliability and the management of the experiences lived in the context of regression to dependence as a fundamental point in the elaboration and reframing of the tasks inherent to the constitution of the individual and the resumption of maturation. The regressive dream and playing, in addition to providing access to the most primitive experiences in the patient’s life history, effectively participate in the constitution and maintenance of personality.

Keywords : dream; play; amorphism; unintentional activity; clinical management.
