Stigma is very present in the social imaginary when we talk about drugs. Thus, studies that make it possible to deepen the understanding of the subject become important. This study aimed to update scientific knowledge about drug use in universities, both in Brazil and internationally, seeking a better understanding of the factors associated with drug use among university students. Therefore, a systematic review was carried out with consultation of the following databases: Scielo, Bireme, Psyc Info and Scopus. The PRISMA method (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses) was used, which favored the organization of data and the systematization of the selected articles. Four important categories were underlined: prevalence of use and associated factors, risk perceptions and behaviors, factors associated with use and prevention at the university.
