from historical-cultural psychology, it is understood that intellectual disability is a condition attributed to a differentiated cognitive functioning that can provide a different way of behaving. It is emphasized that the educational processes aimed at students who find themselves in this condition must be based on mediation proposals that seek to overcome the gaps presented in human development through indirect ways, understanding that this subject has a differentiated functioning, but not inferior or limited. The aim of this study is to demonstrate a proposal for intervention by Educational Psychology in a curricular internship in Psychology, aimed at two adolescents with intellectual disabilities, who attended individual consultations in neurocognitive stimulation, in the intellectual rehabilitation sector of a non-profit institution in a municipality in São Paulo. The most significant activities are presented in sessions of individual assistance, which had the purpose of stimulating the development of functions: attention, language, thought and memory. The practice focused on stimulating new interactional patterns. As a result, it is highlighted that the interventions helped the adolescents to rethink their actions in certain social situations, in order to reflect on more active and autonomous conditions in society.
