Based on the reports of adolescents who were taken in when they were about to be forced out of the institution, the aim of this article was to analyze and discuss the relationship between solidarity and concern in the light of Winnicottian theory. The research method consisted of conducting semi-structured interviews with six adolescents in institutional care. The results showed that the adolescents who were able to transit in the potential space reached what Winnicott called concern, allowing them to value solidarity in their experiences. The conclusion points to issues related to the Institutional Sheltering Service appearing for the participants as a place that approaches the Winnicottian definition of a good enough environment from which it is possible to think of support programs and management of the maturational process that can lead an adolescent to experiences that favor the occurrence of solidarity.
