ESTEVAM, Ionara Dantas; CORDEIRO, Maria de Nazaré Nascimento; FORMIGA, Nilton S.  y  PEREIRA, Margarida Maria Sobral. The core of a leader's effectiveness: the influence of positive psychological capital at work on authentic leadership in Brazilian managers. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2024, vol.44, n.107, pp.204-216.  Epub 02-Dic-2024. ISSN 1415-711X.  https://doi.org/10.5935/2176-3038.20240020.

Organizational leadership has been associated with the processes of transformation and change in the world of work, requiring professionals to have a psychosocial organization in the face of labor demands and competitiveness. These new professional perspectives generally focus on interpersonal relationships and human resources aimed at developing people management based on positive psychological capabilities to deal with adversities at work. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between Positive Psychological Capital at Work (PPCW) and Authentic Leadership (AL) in leaders of public and private organizations in Brazil. The study included 136 professional leaders and managers in Brazilian organizations, distributed across all Brazilian states, who responded to sociodemographic data and the scale of positive psychological capital at work and authentic leadership. It was observed that, for the sample context in question, the scales were consistent, as well as a positive relationship between authentic leadership and positive psychological capital. It is also worth noting that, in the frequency analysis, there was a higher percentage of high levels of AL when associated with high levels of PPCW. These findings suggest that the leader has good emotional organization when structured in positive psychological capital, a condition that can contribute to healthy and humanistic management and work dynamics.

Palabras llave : authentic leadership; positive psychological capital at work; employees.
