This study aimed to analyze the parenting style and educational practices of parents (men) of children between nine and twelve years old, from the perspective of the dyad: father-son. Therefore, it is a cross-sectional, quantitative and descriptive research. The sample consisted of 48 participants, consisting of 24 children and their respective fathers, who responded individually to the instruments: Semi-structured questionnaire on parenting practices and the Parenting Styles Inventory. Descriptive statistical analyzes were performed, such as simple frequency and percentage distribution. The results showed that positive parenting styles stood out in the investigated sample. In addition, the play items and paternal responsibilities were present in the mentioned parenting practices. However, coercive practices, such as physical abuse, in addition to paternal absence, were negative aspects reported by the participating children. It emphasizes the importance of promoting psychoeducational reflections for the development of healthy parenting styles and practices, as well as paternal participation in different social contexts.
