This review study aimed to present a theoretical discussion about the nursery educator's participation in the subjectivation of babies and very young children. Based on the psychoanalysis framework, the study proposes to discuss the importance that the nursery educator assumes in the process of subjectivation of the baby and the very young children. Although little explored in the literature, it is important to shed light on the function of caring and educating, in early childhood education, considering that it is a job that involves subject investment. This work differs from the parental function, at the same time, it is undeniable that the education professional is also a reference figure in the subjectivation process of the baby and the small child in the space of Early Education.
